Surtex, New York

We've just returned from New York having participated in an annual licensing tradeshow. We had a blast and made lots of excellent contacts. We had digitally printed panels on polyvinyl that we unrolled and velcroed along the walls. here's Jim.. making progress
We took swatches of my fabric and placed them all around the top of our display Here's a shot of the other side. We hung several originals near the desk and set up props. A friend of mine in California had sewn the cutest things for me before we moved.. thanks, Dona! I also had mocked up some gift bags and boxes

And finally, a shot with me and my wonderful husband at the end of a long three days

Workshop at CPs

My Buddy Charles has been teaching an ongoing workshop in Little Rock. This past weekend, the class was held here in Eureka Springs, I'm guessing because of all the weekend's festivities. After promising to behave myself (and those who know me, know how hard a task THAT is ; ) I was invited to come and see what everyone was up to.

Charles sets up a workshop space in the studio area of his house... with all those windows and high ceiling, it is a Perfect place for a class. Downstairs in his basement, Charles gave a quill curing and cutting demo, then everyone got their very own quill... except for me I guess I wasn't a student and didn't qualify! Anyway, it was fun. After telling many of his students previously about how I work in my pajamas, they encouraged me (even insisted!) that I show up in my "uniform". So I DID!!! all I had to do was throw a hat on my head and boots on my feet. Sorry, no picture ; )

Gallery Hoppers!

Last night was another night of Openings around town. First we went to Eurekan Art, a beautiful gallery. You can learn a little more about them here Somehow, I managed to get in a few pictures last night. Here's me and my buddy Charles. He was floating a bit last night because one of his beautiful paintings sold at the Opening on Friday!
Then we went to Randal's opening. Shame on me for not having any still shots. I bothered everyone with with my video camera instead ; ) I've got some GReAT clips from both of last night's gallery hops. Then we all toddled off to dinner at Sparky's, popular with locals and tourists alike. Me and my favorite guy, Jim, good friends and good times!

I promise to be back tomorrow with today's events..
